info : is the FREE Time Tracker app compatible with OSX 10.9 Mavericks ?

Question :

I am a freelancer, and therefore I need a time tracking-app. I have been using the FREE “Time Tracker”-app (that was originally made by Ivan Dramaliev in 2005) for some years now to great joy. I am now on the verge of upgrading to OSX 10.9 Mavericks, but I’ve heard that this upgrade will turn old software from the PowerPC-Mac era obsolete…

I’ve looked on the internet, but I can’t find any info on this :

is Time Tracker app compatible with OSX 10.9 Mavericks ?

Answer :

YES !

Time Tracker app will run in OSX 10.9 Mavericks

But… there’s a few things you should know :

– no thorough testing has been done on the compatibility with OSX 10.9 Mavericks, so there might still be some minor bugs or incompatibilities… (but generally speaking, you should be able to open your existing Time Tracker files, and create new ones)

– the latest version of the FREE Time Tracker app is version 1.3.13 (beta) and has been released by Rainer Burgstaller in January 2011 (so about 3 years ago), this version can be downloaded from his website or from the project’s GoogleDev-page here

– Rainer has stated that he has ambitions with Time Tracker, but he has little time to work on it… so Time Tracker might not be a good choice if you’re looking for a future-proof solution…

– the built-in Gatekeeper function of OSX will refuse the install of Time Tracker initially, since  it is considered to be from an “unidentified developer”… for instructions on how to bypass this, look here
