fixed : can’t accept iCloud terms & conditions since iOS 7 upgrade

Question :

I just upgraded to iOS 7 and now my iPhone keeps telling me that I have to accept the Terms & Conditions to be able to (re)connect to my iCloud account…

…but how can I do that when the iCloud setting on my iPhone keeps on being greyed out, so nothing happens when I click on it ?

Note : I can access iCloud from my Mac running OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion and though my browser without a problem, but I don’t see any option to (re)accept the new iCloud Terms & Conditions from there either…

What can I do ?

Answer :

This is a strange bug that sometimes appears during the iOS 7 upgrade…

The solutions is rather simple, but not really obvious… :

on your iPhone (in iOS 7), open the “Find My Friends”-app and login using your Apple ID (= your iCloud ID) ; during the login you will be asked to accept the new iCloud Terms & Conditions, and if you do just that, iCloud-services will be ‘auto-magically’ be restored allover iOS 7…

For those of you who need a little more guidance on how to do this :

1- on your iPhone, open the Settings app, and go to “General”, then click on the triangular arrow behind “Restrictions    On” and type your Restrictions-password (if you have “Restrictions    Off” you can skip the next step)

2- in the Restrictions settings, scroll down to “ALLOW CHANGES:” and make sure that “Accounts” is set to changes being allowed

3- then press the Home-button (the button below the screen on the front) once to exit the Settings app and go back to the main screen

4- then put your finger on the middle of the screen (inbetween the icons) and swipe down, so the Search field and keyboard will appear

5- in the Search field, type “Find Friends”, and click on the app icon to open it when it appears in the search result list

6- on the Find My Friends app, type your Apple ID and your password and click on Sign In

7- now you will first get the new iCloud Terms & Conditions, accept those

8- when done, click on the Home-button again (once), and return to the Settings app to switch the Accounts preference inside Restrictions back to ‘changes not allowed’

…that’s it !

Enjoy 😉
